Walking together
Our Community
A living community of people walking together in the tradition of Sumak Kawsay.
The life in community
The Church of Sumak Kawsay is a community of practice. Not a place, but a way of being together on the path.
Belonging
Belonging to our community is cultivated through continued participation in ceremonial life. It is not bought or declared. It is walked, day by day, in prayer, in reciprocity, and in presence.
Reciprocity
Our community activities are held within the framework of Andean reciprocity. Each member contributes what they can, and receives what they need. This is how community is woven. This is how the tradition is held.
Transmission
Knowledge is transmitted from Yachay to apprentice, from Kuraka to successor, from generation to generation. The tradition lives because someone holds it each day, with reverence and with discipline.
Our alliances
Sacred Plant Alliance
A self-regulating federation of churches dedicated to accountability and transparency in sacramental communities. Membership means our practice is held to shared standards of ethics and safety.
Fuoco Sacro
Our ally organization. Together we hold the Sumak Kawsay tradition and coordinate the annual Vision Quest in Italy.
Gratitude
Our church exists thanks to the support and generosity of our community. Every member, every apprentice, every donor. Every ceremony celebrated, every fire lit. All of it forms part of the living fabric of Sumak Kawsay.
Thank you to those who walk with us in this tradition. To the elders who transmitted these teachings to us. To the Yachay and Kurakas who sustain them. To the members who practice them with reverence. To the donors who sustain the path.
